Boeing Aircraft began building the Stearman, also known as the Stearman Model 75, in the 1930s primarily as a trainer aircraft for the US Army Air Corp, the UIS Navy, and the Royal Canadian Air Force. After World War 2, thousands of Stearmen were sole to private owners and converted into pleasure aircraft and crop duster airplanes.
